As the weeks go by, we adapt, learn our little one's needs, and establish a routine. But then comes the time to reintegrate into paid work.

It's essential to understand that this process is precisely that: a process. Readjusting to the new routine will take time. During this period, it is normal to experience a range of emotions, some more pleasant than others, but gradually we start to feel more comfortable and find a new family dynamic.

Separating from our baby can trigger complex and difficult-to-handle emotions, such as guilt, distress, sadness, fear, or anxiety. Delegating the role of primary caregiver requires a great deal of trust.

It's important to make a significant clarification: in some cases, a parent may choose to return to paid work and experience this transition with joy or relief (because being at home all day with a baby is not easy, and not everyone enjoys it). If this is your case, you should know that it is also normal to feel this way, and it is entirely valid to make this decision.

Whatever your situation, give yourself permission to process these emotions and find a new routine that fits your new reality. You may feel exhausted, scatterbrained, longing to be in two places at once, missing your baby (or your profession when you're at home), and feeling like you're no longer the same person as before your leave.

And you know what, that's true. You're no longer the same person, and your life will no longer be the same, but that's okay. Over time, you'll rediscover yourself and uncover a new version of you that is now also a parent.

I wish I could tell you there is a magic solution for all this, but the truth is that this process is a journey you must go through with patience, self-love, and compassion. Every person is unique, and every process is different. Allow yourself to live it your way, without judgment, knowing that this is a transitional moment and that everything will settle with time.

Remember, this phase of transition is just that: a phase. In time, you will find your balance and discover a new normal that allows you to thrive in both your work and family life. Stay calm, be kind to yourself, and remember that you are not alone on this journey. Everything will be alright!

Cuando damos la bienvenida a nuestro bebé, nos inundan una mezcla de emociones, sensaciones y cambios hormonales que pueden resultar abrumadores.
